Standard Process

Our Approach

Whole-food nutrition, the way nature intended.

We believe the body recognizes nutrition best in the form nature built it — whole, complex, and complete. That belief shapes every choice we make, from the soil in our fields to the bottle on the shelf.

The whole-food principle

Nutrients were never meant to work alone.

In a whole food, a vitamin doesn't arrive by itself. It comes bundled with the enzymes, minerals, antioxidants, and trace cofactors that help the body recognize and use it. This is a nutrient complex — a small team of parts that cooperate.

Standard Process was founded on the conviction that this is how nutrition is meant to be delivered. Pull a single named vitamin out and synthesize it in a lab, and you have a chemical that shares a name with the original — but not the company it once kept.

So we don't build supplements from isolated synthetic chemicals. We concentrate whole foods, keeping the complex intact, so the nutrition we offer is the nutrition the body was designed to receive.

“A whole-food complex carries more than any one vitamin on a label. We believe that fuller picture is the point.”
The principle behind everything we make

An isolated chemical

A single part, made alone

A synthetic isolate replicates one named compound. It can be useful — but it arrives stripped of the cofactors that, in nature, never leave its side.

A whole-food complex

Many parts, working together

A whole-food complex keeps the nutrient in its natural company — the supporting elements intact, the way the body learned to recognize them.

Support the whole person

We nourish the body — we don't chase a single symptom.

The body is not a list of separate problems to be solved one at a time. It's a connected system. Our approach is to support that whole system with foundational nutrition — giving the body what it needs to maintain its own healthy structure and function, rather than masking the signal it's sending.

Systems, not symptoms

A symptom is a signal, not the whole story. Our approach is to nourish the body systems behind it — digestion, immune response, cellular energy — so the body has what it needs to function the way it's built to.

The body knows what to do

We don't try to override the body. We work with it. Whole-food nutrition is about giving the body familiar, recognizable building blocks and letting its own intelligence do the rest.

Designed for the long view

Foundational nutrition isn't a quick fix. Our products are made to support healthy structure and function over time — the patient way, the lasting way.

From the soil up

Good nutrition starts in the ground.

Most supplement companies begin with an ingredient order. We begin with a field. Because a nutrient complex is only as rich as the plant it came from — and a plant is only as strong as the soil that raised it — quality, for us, starts at the very beginning.

01

Healthy soil, healthy plant

A plant can only carry the nutrition its ground can give it. We tend our certified-organic soil with cover crops and care, because the quality of an ingredient is decided long before harvest.

02

Grown on our own farm

Many of the ingredients in our supplements are raised on our certified-organic farmland in Wisconsin — so nutrition isn't something we source, it's something we cultivate.

03

Harvested at peak

We harvest crops when their nutrient density is at its richest, not when a schedule says so — and move quickly to keep that vitality intact.

Gently made

A light hand, so the complex survives the making.

A whole-food complex is delicate. Heat, harsh processing, and aggressive extraction can break apart the very partnerships that make it valuable. So we process with restraint — using gentle, low-temperature methods designed to preserve the natural nutrient complex rather than strip it down.

It is slower and more careful than the alternative, and that is the point. The goal of every step is the same: that the whole-food complex which left our field is, as much as possible, the same complex a practitioner recommends and a patient takes.

Held to a standard

Rigor is in our name — and in every batch.

A belief in whole foods only matters if the product lives up to it. We hold our supplements to a demanding standard of quality and testing — so practitioners can recommend them, and patients can take them, with confidence.

Tested at every step

Ingredients and finished products are checked along the way — for identity, purity, and consistency — so what reaches a practitioner is what we intended to make.

Vertically integrated

We grow, harvest, manufacture, and test in-house. Keeping the process under one roof means fewer hand-offs and a clearer view of quality from soil to bottle.

Consistency you can rely on

Practitioners build protocols on our products. That trust is earned batch after batch, with rigorous controls that hold every lot to the same standard.
